The George Weinstein Torah & Technology Center of Great Neck Synagogue has been established by the Weinstein family in memory of George Weinstein, z”l, who served as the first president of the Great Neck Synagogue, from 1951-1953.
From his earliest involvement in the Great Neck community, as well as with the many other communities he touched, Torah was always an important value for George Weinstein, z”l. Strengthening shuls, schools and yeshivot is part of the legacy he has left behind.
This Center represents a combination of these two interests. Its purpose is to make Torah more accessible through the employment of technology. From live satellite broadcasts of prominent talmidei chachamim across the world, to the recording and archiving of local shiurim and programs of interest, the George Weinstein Torah & Technology Center will be the address for the cutting edge of the interface between these two worlds. It will provide an inviting physical environment for those who choose to locally access the content of the Center, as well as an internet address for the Center’s content to be accessed around the globe.
