Great Neck Synagogue notes with sorrow the passing of Lorraine Mermelstein, beloved mother of our member Steven (and Laurie) Mermelstein, and beloved mother of Stacey Gardin, and beloved sister of Leo Treiber.

The funeral will take place, Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 1 pm at Sinai Chapels in Queens.

Shiva, ending Monday morning, November 11, 2019 will be observed at the Mermelstein home, 9 Dodford Road, in Great Neck. Davenning will be as follows: Thursday, Friday and Monday morning at 6:45 am. Sunday morning at 8:30 am. There will be no minyan at the shiva home for mincha/maariv on Wednesday and Thursday, but there will be a minyan for mincha/maariv at 4:20 pm on Sunday.

The family requests that shiva visits not be made between 12-1:30 pm, between 5:30-7 pm, nor after 9:30 pm (10:30 pm on Saturday night). On Friday, shiva visits may be made all day until 2:30 pm.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, October 16 at 9:30 am, at Riverside Nassau North Chapel in Great Neck.

Shiva will begin on Tuesday night, October 22, following Simchat Torah, at the David residence, 417 Yale Avenue, Woodmere, NY. Shiva will conclude Monday morning, October 28. The family requests no shiva visits between 6:30 – 7 pm and no later than 10 pm. Shacharit will be at 7 am (Sunday at 8:30 am), mincha/maariv at 5:50 pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 5:40 pm on Sunday.

Great Neck Synagogue notes with sorrow the passing of Eugen Gluck, beloved grandfather of Davida (and Marc) Yehaskel. Mr. Gluck was a powerhouse who survived the Shoah, built a successful business and was renowned throughout the Jewish world for his philanthropy.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 2pm, at Schwartz Brothers, 114-03 Queens, Blvd, Forest Hills, NY.
