Rabbi Axelrod, a former assistant rabbi at GNS, is the Associate Rabbi of the Young Israel of Woodmere. He is also the founding director of Kesharim, an educational organization which promotes Torah programs on college campuses. He was ordained by the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and holds a M.A. in Jewish education from the Azrieli School of Jewish Education.

About George Weinstein z'l
George Weinstein, z”l, served as the first president of Great Neck Synagogue from 1951 to 1953. This center has been established by the Weinstein family in his memory. It represents his values, hopes and dream of illuminating the world with Torah.
From his earliest involvement in the Great Neck community, as well as with the many other communities he touched, Torah was always an important value for George Weinstein, z”l. Strengthening shuls, schools and yeshivot is part of the legacy he has left behind.
This Center represents a combination of these two interests. Its purpose is to make Torah more accessible through the employment of technology. From live satellite broadcasts of prominent talmidei chachamim across the world, to the recording and archiving of local shiurim and programs of interest, the George Weinstein Torah & Technology Center will be the address for the cutting edge of the interface between these two worlds. It will provide an inviting physical environment for those who choose to locally access the content of the Center, as well as an internet address for the Center’s content to be accessed around the globe.
