If you were among the over 575 attendees who enjoyed a delicious Shabbat dinner, the warm company of friends and neighbors, and a riveting presentation from Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, you know, first-hand, the profound impact that our Family Shabbat Dinner & Guest Speakers Series has made on our synagogue and the larger Great Neck community.

Over the past 18 months, thanks to your patronage and support, the Great Neck Synagogue Shabbat experience has been enhanced by the presence of leading thinkers, educators, and personalities of the international Jewish community, including Malcolm Hoenlein, Dr. Deborah Lipstadt, Rabbis Shlomo Riskin, Joseph Telushkin, and Shmuley Boteach, Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, and many more. Our youth look forward to the exciting Children’s Program coordinated by our GNS Youth Department. Most of all, we have been enriched by the opportunity to celebrate Shabbat together as a community.

To continue all this, we need you. I am encouraging you to join our sponsors, who ensure the financial viability of the series, and represent a strong expression of the community spirit that is our ultimate goal.

Our next Shabbat luncheon will take place Saturday, February 2, “Super Bowl Shabbat,” and will feature Alan Veingrad, a member of the 1992 Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys. An observant Jew, Alan is a nationally-acclaimed speaker with a unique story, sure to inspire and captivate us all.
