THANK YOU VERY MUCH to Pam Bilfeld for sponsoring our talk (and dessert reception) on “Stress management for Busy Adults” by Rabbi Elimelech Goldberg, founder of Kids Kicking Cancer, last week. This event, co-presented with the Men’s Club was very informative and helpful. Thank you to everyone who came.
Our membership drive and dinner invitations have been mailed out. Please ask everyone you know if they have received it.  If you haven’t received it, please call the shul to check if your address is correct, and email me for all the dinner information. Please encourage all you friends to join us as lifetime members!
Our Sisterhood Chai Annual Dinner is in 2 weeks! We are still collecting raffle prizes and look forward to your help in stuffing our (very very full) take home surprises, tentatively planned for Monday, November 5th at 10 AM. Our speaker this year is Rachelle Weisberger, author of Biblical Beauty.  We return to Colbeh!!! at 6 PM on November 7th.   Please save the date, and return your RSVP card with your contribution ($40 for members, $45 for non-members).  Sponsorships are available - Gold - $72, Silver - $36 and Bronze $18. Please come out for this amazing event with your friends, and learn how to be even more beautiful than you are!
Our Next Sisterhood Meeting is on Wednesday, Nov 14th at 7 PM in the Braun Youth Center.  Please come (drop off some kids at Pizza and Parsha) and be involved!  I am always looking for new, exciting and different events!  Stay tuned for a gift card sale, antique auction, hypnotherapist, fashion event, college financial aid discussion, Chanukah bazaar, cooking tips, Simply Outstanding Solution (that is a hint for our next household hint), and more!!!
On Monday, November 26th, Barry Fox, a College financial Aid Consultant will be speaking on “Financial Aid and Grants available to College Students.” This event is co-sponsored with the Men’s Club. This is sure to be a very very helpful event - even if your kids are young.
Our Chanukah Bazaar is shaping up to be lots of fun!!!! Save the date - Wednesday Nov 28th from 5-9 PM!! We already have a bunch of vendors booked - furs, women’s clothes, jewelry, soaps, olive oils, baby items, headbands, tablecloths, and many more!  We are still looking for volunteers, and if you know of anyone who would like to vend - please email me.
Ongoing chesed opportunities:
Our October Chesed event continues! Brenda Parver is collecting good condition baby clothes and items and all winter coats through October 29th to be donated to Oneg Shabbos. Items can be dropped off on her porch at 7 Strathmore Rd.

Nechama Liss- Levinson has presented us with 2 wonderful Chesed opportunities for this Thanksgiving.
Pies for Prevention is a program where you can purchase pareve pies for thanksgiving, and the funds raised will  go to SHARSHERET to raise money for young Jewish women and their families facing OVARIAN CANCER.  Pies can be purchased at www.sharsheret.org/pies-for-prevention/greatneck Please help by baking homemade pies, or purchasing the pies.  Please contact Nechama Liss-Levinson for further details.
We are also looking for volunteers and funds to purchase Thanksgiving Meals for the the elderly living at Arrandale House in Great Neck.  Meals are $18 each, and we need volunteers to serve the meals and to participate in our Talent Show on Thanksgiving Day,  Thursday Nov 22,  11:30-2:00pm.  Again, thank you to Nechama for organizing this event.
